In your opinion(s), would it a "good" time to visit family in Kingston, Jamaica in these upcoming weeks?
HI BOB D! LONG TIME! On my way to Jamaica...and ...yes, my wondering and anxious mind has asked many-many questions and I've done my fair share of "research" about (my trip to)Jamaica as a whole...and the main issues that has raised a red flag in my mind is that of my personal safety. The said violence in Jamaica has continuously been one of the main subjects in all of the story telling, new articles, etc. that I've been exposed to. Then again, I've decided to not let other peoples' experiences ruin my trip...so, I've decided to go all in and fulljoy MY OWN experience... BUT...recently, I've become aware of some political issues going on about the "DON" in Kingston possibly being extradited to the U.S.. I'm not sure what that entails and how it has come about, but it seems to have caused alot of disarray in the Kingston area. I'll just drop a few links here instead of trying to explain. With all of that on the table here's the deal... We currently have flight and hotel reservations already paid in full for our vacation/family visit to Jamaica IN THE NEXT 2 WEEKS. To be specific, the family that we will be visiting actually reside in downtown Kingston and/or Tivoli Gardens(to my confusion). I mention downtown Kingston because this seems to be where all of the issues(that I'm speaking on)are going down. Not only that, but specifically NORTH street. This is exactly where they live! Both of these being areas that are mentioned amidst it all.. Well, could I have chosen any better time to go?!... But seriously, HOW COULD THIS POSSIBLY EFFECT THE EXPERIENCE/SAFETY/ENJOYMENT OF A "TOURIST"/VISITOR TO THAT PARTICULAR DOWNTOWN KINGSTON AREA in these upcoming weeks? Any thoughts/ideas/opinions are greatly appreciated!!!

The Tivoli Gardens area of Jamaica has been a long time gangland territory of the shower posse and supporters of the JLP. Regardless of wheather or not Dudus (the son of late, but long time Don Dada Jim Brown) is planned to be extradited, the area is known for stints of violence and police raids. You will experience road blocks for the most part and since you are not from that area, you may have to get permission from the locals in the community to visit your family in Tivoli. As for violence, it will be directed towards police and security personnel attempting to extradite Dudus. Since he is looked upon as a community leader in that area, and is the son of the most famous posse don of all time, things could get crazy. Good luck...ONE LOVE.
